Google Claims Real-Time Traffic in 13 New Countries

Google yesterday announced to have added real-time traffic information to its maps in 13 new countries in Europe and the Middle East. The new road traffic information is in the traffic layer on Google Maps and Google Maps for mobile,and Google Maps Navigation.

The new countries with traffic information coverage are Austria,Belgium,Czech Republic,Denmark,Germany,Ireland,Israel,Luxembourg,Netherlands,Poland,Slovakia,Spain and Switzerland.

The live traffic layer on Google Maps is updated every 5-10 minutes. It is also possible to view the predicted traffic conditions for any day and time,based on past traffic conditions.

According to Google “Coverage includes all freeways and highways,as well as large roads in major cities. Users in the UK will also benefit from a finer grain of street level coverage.“
